1 cup of frozen, canned or fresh pineapple chunks,
one mango or 1/4 of a papaya or 1 banana
3/4 cup coconut yogurt, unsweetened
3/4 cup coconut water
Scoop vanilla protein powder (or a banana or extra mango for sweetness if not using protein powder which is sweet)
a pinch of ground ginger or 1 tsp fresh ginger for a little kick (go easy on the powdered stuff unless you have a cold, ground ginger is more potent than fresh!)
1/4 tsp ground cardamom, for lassi flavor or leave out for pina cola protein shake, vanilla extract can also be used.
for a tropical lassi variation add a tsp orange blossom water ($3 from the persian market), it will totally give its own unique flavor, so both ways taste different. ) OR add a tsp of lime or orange zest
Blend, serve with coconut water ice cubes if desired and garnish with extra lime zest.
Lassi variation: omit the protein powder and since protein powders add sweetness from stevia, add a scant cup of coconut milk plus half a cup more coconut water or a 3d fruit to sweeten naturally.
